You’ve tried everything to support your child through their big behaviours and feelings, but it often feels like nothing is working. Parent/caregiver consultations are a great fit if you’re feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, and unable to catch a break. You might be struggling to understand your child’s underlying needs that lead to constant meltdowns, leaving you stuck and unsure of what to do next.
These consultations offer a supportive space to explore strategies that help you better understand and support your child while also caring for yourself, so you can find balance, clarity, and confidence during this challenging time.

Common Questions About Parent/Caregiver Consultations
-
Typically parent consultations are scheduled after every 6-8 sessions that your child comes to therapy (ex: If your child attends therapy every week we will meet approximately every 6-8 weeks).
-
MOST times these sessions ARE covered under insurance. To ensure these sessions are covered under your specific insurance plan, I would recommend calling the 1-800 number on the back of your insurance card and speaking with a representative. (These sessions are considered outpatient behavioral health services and CPT code is 90846).
-
Absolutely! I understand it can be more convenient at times to meet virtually for the parent sessions. At the time of our virtual meeting, you will receive a HIPAA-compliant video call link through Simple Practice.
